A monolithic zirconia prosthesis is a fixed implant-supported restoration milled from one solid block of zirconia. Unlike a layered prosthesis, no separate porcelain veneer is applied — the whole structure is a single material. That makes it particularly durable, because there is no layer that could chip or craze over time.
Monolithic zirconia is the final prosthesis used in All-on-4, All-on-5 and All-on-6 treatments. The material is biocompatible, does not absorb stains and does not change shade over the years.

Materials and fabrication
The prosthesis is milled from an industrially produced zirconia block following a digital model. Shape and tooth shade are designed on screen, then the structure is milled, stained and fired. The surface is polished to a mirror finish — a smooth surface collects less plaque and is kinder to the gums.
Treatment steps
- Impressions. Precise implant-level impressions or a digital scan.
- Try-in. Bite, shape and shade are checked.
- Fabrication. The prosthesis is milled and finished in the laboratory.
- Fitting. It is secured to the implants with screws and the bite adjusted.

Care and durability
Zirconia is highly wear-resistant, but the prosthesis still needs daily cleaning, particularly between the prosthesis and the gum. Use an interdental brush and water flosser, and come in twice a year for professional hygiene. Once a year the dentist checks screw tension and bone levels around the implants.
